I have loved picking out each item for little Caris' room. From the beginning, I have been drawn to garden items for our little girl. I think she is a nature lover! We've implemented birds, twigs, butterflies, and flowers into the decor, she definitely guided the process.
I searched far and wide for bedding fabric that I felt suited my vision for the room. It was more challenging than I envisioned. I finally found some 'big girl' bedding at a store in Sonoma, CA for 50% off! Luckily, my mother-in-law is quite talented and had offered to create the nursery bedding, curtains, and other items out of the fabric. I think it turned out great!! Just what I was hoping for. Caris' crib is a pewter metal and was one of my first and favorite purchases, as part of our Christmas gift from Garrett's parents. I love the 'antique' look and I am hopeful that it will be an heirloom piece.

For her name, I found these cool letters made from twigs and dried flower/herbs; I was obsessed and couldn't wai
t to put them up in her room! I love the little butterflies my mom found hanging in the corner. In her crib, you can also see her little Dr. Dennis monkey that Aunt Shelby gave Caris, she's going to love him! Caris's closet and room are also stuffed with the gifts from the many who have shown her much love and graciousness already. Her room brims with the evidence that Aunt Alli has made certain that she will never be without a cozy, stuffed animal to cuddle with, a book to read, or a cute little outfit to wear. Her closet contains all her baby gear, with a hook-up from Jordan and Natalie who gave her some of her needed items. I will have to get some pictures soon of some of our other favorite items :) The nursery has truly been a group effort!
Garrett, the master furniture man, refinished an old dresser to match her crib. I think it turned out great! We were able to find some cool knobs to match as well. I think it looks even better with her frilly pink dress and pink tutu on it (courtesy of Auntie TJ who makes sure Caris is always pretty in pink ruffles!). Machita convinced me to add a pink rug (which you can kind of see below) and I am so glad she did! I think it adds just the right amount of color.
Let me just say this glider is AMAZING! I have already spent several hours in it and it is truly my new favorite place in the house. It was our Christmas present from my parents and I think it is going to get some great use! (It turns completely around, rocks, and glides!) Her sweet little pink 'birdie' lamp is right beside the chair ready for hours of reading. I really love the curtains on this window as well, so soft and sweet.
Garrett also custom made her changing table at a height
more manageable for her pops and that will function as a bookshelf for our little learner. I guess that means that he now has diaper duty?? I was so impressed with how the changer turned out and love that Caris will have something that her Dad made in her room. Grammy Jane is working on basket liners out of the blue fabric to match the bumper. I think it is going to be great! We stole the butterfly pics from my mom's house, but I love how they tie everything together. We have some finishing touches to make, but overall are excited to feel like things are in place.
Caris! Your room is ready for you! We went into overdrive this week/weekend partly because the latest Dr's visit indicates that we continue to make progress towards meeting our little girl. We aren't sure how quickly she will continue to make her way, but we are ready for her when she chooses to maker her debut.
We hope your little room is a welcoming place for you! I know we will spend many hours together here.
'I pray the Lord my soul to keep.'

Thanks so much guys!! I appreciate the validation, I'm not good at decorating, so I had to try extra hard.
